Mr. Shiro TSUDA is responsible for the global business of NTT DoCoMo, Inc. as Managing Director of the company's Global Business Division since 2002. He has also held the position of Senior Executive Vice President on the company's board since 2001.

Mr. Tsuda joined the former Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation in 1970 and became a driving force in developing the company's mobile communications sector. He is one of the original members of NTT DoCoMo, which he helped to set up in 1992 to take over NTT's mobile communications operations and sales.

Mr. Tsuda has held a number of important posts with DoCoMo and has contributed significantly to the company's growth and development. These include his invaluable contributions to DoCoMo's strategic planning as Senior Manager of the Planning Department from 1992 to 1993 and Executive Manager of the Corporate Strategy Planning Department from 1995 to 2000.

One of Mr. Tsuda's major achievements is the crucial role he played in DoCoMo's launch of the world's first 3G service based on W-CDMA technology in 2001. After spearheading the drive to establish W-CDMA technology as an IMT-2000 global standard, he guided the FOMA(R) 3G service launch as head of the company's Network Division.

He was elected to DoCoMo's board as a Senior Vice President in 1996 and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1998.

Mr. Tsuda graduated from Keio University with a master's degree in engineering in 1970.
