The widespread popularity of Internet-capable PCs and cellular phones has created a burgeoning demand for information for personal use. Spurred by this trend, Nikkei has been among the first to provide information services for the general public, and has established a state-of-the art information delivery infrastructure for a variety of content, from business data to consumer trends.

The Nikkei Online Edition is a new media outlet (in Japanese) combining the information quality of a newspaper and the convenience of the Internet.
The online edition not only makes available all articles appearing in the morning and evening editions of The Nikkei daily newspaper, it also offers a wide variety of its own original content. The site, which consists of the latest news reports and columns, is updated throughout the day, including at the time of release of The Nikkei's morning and evening editions, in the pursuit of timeliness and immediacy as well as in-depth insight.
Five specialty sections -- Business Leader, Money, Technology, Life and Sports -- provide a host of useful, convenient and interesting information. Articles, data and videos offered by other Nikkei group companies, such as Nikkei Business Publications Inc., Quick Corp. and TV Tokyo Corp., are also presented. Another feature is popular columns from leading overseas media. An abundance of this content is arranged in a reader-friendly way, using cutting-edge Web technology. The easy-to-use functions include automatic collection and storage of articles based on registered keywords, full search capability and delivery by e-mail.
To read the online edition, which is a pay service, registration is required via our Web site. Registrants can access the service via mobile phone as well, without an additional fee.
The Nikkei's English-language online service will still be available at Nikkei.com.

Born from Nikkei Net Interactive in March 2009, Nikkei.com delivers more than 100 English articles per day from The Nikkei and its specialized Japanese newspapers, along with all the news from The Nikkei Weekly. The new online subscription service also contains 30 free articles for non-subscribers. With Nikkei.com's personalization functions, users can see the latest news stories matching the keywords of their choice. Nikkei.com has also partnered with other leading Asian newspapers to bring you the latest news straight from the source. Selected news from The Nikkei Veritas, Nikkei's weekly newspaper for finance & investment professionals, is available as an add-on premium option. Another premium option, Nikkei Archives, gives users access to the complete collection of Nikkei's English news for around 10 years.

In 1999, Nikkei introduced Nikkei Money & Sports, a fee-based service that offers major news and stock market information via Internet-capable mobile phones. The service has grown to provide a wide range of content, including e-mail news updates, Nikkei Information Search (which allows subscribers to search a comprehensive archive of news and information on leading companies that goes back three months), information from Major League Baseball of the U.S. and Mobile Podcasts. Among other Nikkei services that take advantage of the Internet and mobile telecommunications is Nikkei Money Prime, which features stock price graphs and charts.
